Mijatović proposes measures: Suspend salaries of councillors and deputies at all levels until the end of the year

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - Vojin Mijatović (SDP) proposed a set of measures to mitigate the economic consequences caused by the coronavirus pandemic, and as he pointed out, this is only an initial set of measures that would significantly alleviate the impact on our economy due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"All of this is possible because we have a state of emergency!" said Mijatović.

Proposed measures:

- suspend salaries and allowances of councillors and deputies at all levels until the end of the year
- suspend costs of representation, mobile phones and travel abroad in public administration at all levels until the end of the year
- immediately terminate all service contracts in the public sector
- introduce a moratorium on loan payments for all natural and legal persons until the end of the year
- immediately increase salaries by 15% for employees in the health sector, police, armed forces, trade sector, production sector, and all other sectors providing services necessary for the normal functioning of citizens
- impose a moratorium on the payment of contributions on workers' salaries until the end of the year
- impose a moratorium on the payment of profit tax for all production companies until the end of the year
- increase pensions by 20% in both entities
- limit prices of fuel, foodstuffs, disinfectants and medicines until the end of the year
- close state borders at least until the end of April, and form transport corridors for the unhindered flow of goods
- establish a state fund with an initial capital of 100 million BAM to stimulate domestic production as a substitute for imports, and enable contributions from the IMF, the World Bank and other financial creditors and donors to the same
- give domestic food producers priority in positioning and payment in all retail chains
- ban the export of electricity until the end of the year, and reduce the price of electricity by 10% for citizens and 20% for legal entities
- reduce the VAT rate to 12% until the end of the year and enable VAT payment until the end of the month
