Mijatović announced her arrival at this year's commemoration of the anniversary in Srebrenica

Minister Bisera Turković, on the sidelines of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe meeting held in Strasbourg on March 3, 2020, met with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatović and congratulated her on her election as Commissioner, expressing particular satisfaction that a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina was elected to such a high position in the Council of Europe for the first time.

Minister Turković thanked for the engagement so far for Srebrenica within the Council of Europe, i.e., the organization of an exhibition on the genocide in Srebrenica on the sidelines of the summer plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in June 2019. Turković stated that she highly appreciates the initiative of the Commissioner for Human Rights to declare July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Genocide in Srebrenica by the UN. They also discussed other initiatives to promote projects in Srebrenica and raise awareness among citizens outside of BiH. Commissioner Mijatović announced her arrival at this year's commemoration of the anniversary in Srebrenica.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the migrant crisis in BiH and the development of the situation after the closure of the Vučjak camp, on the issue of protecting persons with special needs and the activities of the Commissioner's Office related to the Pazarić case, and on the official visit of the Commissioner for Human Rights to Bosnia and Herzegovina during 2021.
