Mijatović: Dodik's moves are not a political campaign, they are dangerous things

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Vojin Mijatović, Vice-President of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, spoke tonight about the current political situation in our country. Among other things, he commented on the moves of the member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, as well as statements coming from high political officials from neighboring countries.

Speaking about the small number of Bosniaks and Croats in Republika Srpska, and Serbs in the Federation of BiH, he pointed out that a large number of people displaced by the war live abroad. He believes that their vote in the upcoming elections is the greatest act of patriotism.

- We are still talking about second and third-class citizens. We are not touching on social and economic issues. The war of the 90s left a small number of Bosniaks and Croats in the Republika Srpska entity, and Serbs in the Federation of BiH. As many as 60,000 people from Banja Luka live in Scandinavia. If they registered to vote in Banja Luka, nothing would be the same. All our people around the world must understand that voting in the General Elections in 2022 is the greatest act of patriotism, said Mijatović.

When asked about the unification of pro-Bosnian parties, Mijatović says that unity is very important when it comes to preserving the state.

- We are the BiH national team of various political parties. Although there are ideological differences among us, we said we would put all that aside, because the focus is on preserving BiH. I am optimistic when it comes to changes. People are fed up with this situation. We have a deep political crisis, so it is difficult to assess whether it is the right time to start a campaign or not. Čović started the circus around the Election Law, and Dodik continued with his attitude towards the High Representative. Such a provocative atmosphere suits them, he said.

Commenting on the moves of the member of the Presidency of BiH, Milorad Dodik, he says that his moves are not a political campaign. He claims that these are dangerous things, and like most people from our country, Mijatović expects a reaction from the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

- He is ready to sacrifice peace to keep himself free. He is aware that criminal cases of crime and corruption await him. The problem of Dodik must be resolved by the institutions of BiH, while the international community has an obligation to sanction Dodik's regime for crime and corruption. As long as the decisions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska do not come into force in six months, there is no legal basis for criminal sanctions. However, there are elements of the criminal offense of attacking the constitutional order. The question is why the BiH Prosecutor's Office has not summoned Željka Cvijanović for an interview, who signed the decree on the promulgation of the unconstitutional Law on Medicines and Medical Devices of Republika Srpska. The judiciary is under the influence of political parties, which hinders the rule of law. I trust honorable people who exist in the judiciary, Mijatović points out in an interview for Hayat.

When it comes to the statements of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Mijatović is of the opinion that these are the self-interests of politicians from countries that are already in the EU.

- This is a pure political interest to strengthen their position within the EU. We are still the suburbs of the EU, and populists like Milanović, Orbán, and other right-wingers use this for their own interests. I think we should sit down and talk, especially with EU countries. We cannot respond to darkness with darkness; however difficult it may be, we should talk. However demanding it may be, I am always for dialogue, but I am also always for a strong response, especially to clowns like Vulin in Serbia and the late social democrat Milanović, he says.

They state that people in the region, as well as in BiH, live quite normally, regardless of the psychological outbursts of politicians like Zoran Milanović or Aleksandar Vulin.

- These statements require psychiatric evaluation. We are constantly competing to see who will respond first, but they should be left to talk to the wall and ignored. I do not see an end to the current political situation soon; I think we will enter the elections with this atmosphere, and only after the elections will there be changes when certain political parties will fall. We will endure psychological torture until October next year, Mijatović stated.
