Migrant with fake BiH documents attempted to be smuggled into Switzerland

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Murisa Purića, born in 1968 in Travnik, a BiH citizen. The accused is charged with, with the intention of gaining unlawful property benefits, participating in the smuggling of person A.Q., an illegal migrant from Pakistan, with the aim of illegally transporting the migrant across the state border of BiH, and further towards Switzerland and EU countries.

The indictment states that the accused obtained another person's BiH travel document and a Swiss residence permit, which he gave to the illegal migrant, and told the bus staff that it was allegedly a disabled person who could not speak. In the intention of smuggling, the accused and the illegal migrant were prevented when it was discovered that the Pakistani citizen was using BiH documents belonging to another person, after which the Border Police prevented the smuggling of the migrant.

The accused is charged with committing the criminal offense of human smuggling under Article 189 of the Criminal Code of BiH. The indictment has been forwarded to the BiH Court for confirmation.
