Mešalić: Budgetary cataclysm on the scene, money from FBiH goes to SDP's semi-private projects in RS and cantons governed by HDZ

(Patria) - The DF caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH held a press conference today on the topic of the deficit in the budget of the Federation of BiH.

Head of the Caucus Mahir Mešalić stated that according to the auditor's report, "about half a billion KM disappeared" plus 600 million KM in debt.

"We have a billion that we don't know where it was spent. We are witnessing pensioners rightly demanding pension increases due to this inflation, that money was taken from oncology patients and transferred through current transfers to cantons governed by HDZ. The FBiH Government favored Aluminij and they received coverage of their work service, and an Aluminij worker is 13 times more valuable than a worker from Krivaja or Fortuna Gračanica," said Mešalić.

Mešalić called on the FBiH Government to state where the money for oncology patients is.

"We are talking about hundreds of millions of marks taken from oncology patients, pensioners, taken for the procurement of jeeps to buy deputies, which we warned about. They satisfied certain deputies in the Parliament of FBiH with amendments to secure votes for the Government," said Mešalić.

The DF caucus will ask the Prosecutor's Office to get involved in this process, as well as for a budget execution report.

"Let's see where that money went. It is the money of the taxpayers of FBiH. We have information that this money went to some semi-private SDP projects in Republika Srpska and to cantons governed by HDZ. As for the audit report, they identified all the negativities of previous governments and we think they are doing their job according to the law," said the head of the DF caucus.

He pointed out that there is a desire to privatize the Audit Office institution in order to falsify future reports.

Speaking about the position of pensioners, Mešalić emphasized that they are ready to vote for solutions that would lead to pension increases, but that the Government decided on some one-time assistance.

"This is not enough for pensioners. We believe that in the next two years, if it continues like this, pensions will be questionable, let alone talk about any increase. Everything is collapsing," said Mešalić.
