The President of HO „Merhamet“ MDD Hajrudin Šahić today handed over aid to all endangered families in the Bare settlement in Kakanj whose homes were destroyed by a landslide on Sunday evening, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
Families received packages with emergency humanitarian aid. Each package, worth 260 KM, contains 38 items. The total value of the donation is close to 8,000 KM.
- The aid was delivered after an agreement with the Mayor of Kakanj Municipality, Nermin Mandra, and it includes food, clothing, footwear, dishes, hygiene products, bedding, blankets, and beds. Today we also came to assess the situation in the endangered area to see how else we can help the population whose homes were destroyed by the landslide - said Šahić.
He emphasized that „Merhamet“ will monitor the situation on the ground and will react promptly according to the identified needs.
- „Merhamet“ will strive to provide one-year scholarships for students from families who are victims of the natural disaster that struck the Kakanj settlement of Bare - said Šahić.
