Merhamet opens humanitarian number to collect aid for Rohingya Muslims

The Muslim charitable society „Merhamet“ has launched a campaign to collect aid for Rohingya Muslims who are experiencing exodus and violence in Myanmar.

„Merhamet“ has opened a humanitarian phone number 090 292 001. By calling that number, you can donate 3 KM starting today.

A procedure has also been initiated to open a special account where citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be able to donate aid for the affected Rohingya Muslims. Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be informed about the account number at a later date. 

Donations can be made at the headquarters of „Merhamet“ in Sarajevo (Bistrik 2), as well as in all regional and local committees of „Merhamet“ throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. For more detailed information, call 033/236-527. 

- We cannot be silent observers of the horrors that Rohingya Muslims are going through. It is not enough to merely express verbal sympathy; concrete action is needed to help these people. „Merhamet“ will mobilize its organizational units in our country and abroad, our friends and partner organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and around the world to collect aid for Rohingya Muslims. We are convinced that our solidarity will once again be confirmed and that, in the very near future, we will find ways to get aid to the endangered people in Myanmar – stated the President of the Humanitarian Organization „Merhamet“ MDD Hajrudin Šahić.
