Merhamet and Red Crescent distribute 40 tons of meat to 8,000 vulnerable families

The Muslim charitable society "Merhamet" and its partner organization "Red Crescent" of Turkey have provided 40,000 kilograms of Cuban meat which was distributed during Kurban Bayram. Thus, over 8,000 socially vulnerable families across Bosnia and Herzegovina received packages of five kilograms of sacrificial meat each.

Members of the Management Board of the Turkish "Red Crescent" visited "Merhamet's" Imaret Soup Kitchen in Sarajevo during Kurban Bayram, where they were hosted by the President of HO "Merhamet" MDD Hajrudin Šahić and the Director of the Regional Board of "Merhamet" Munib Bujak. Hajrudin Šahić emphasized that "Merhamet" has an exceptional cooperation with the "Red Crescent" and expressed the wish for this cooperation to be further promoted for the benefit of those in need of assistance.

Representatives of the "Red Crescent" welcomed another joint action by "Merhamet" and the "Red Crescent" and emphasized that "Merhamet" is a good and very reliable partner of the "Red Crescent", and that this Turkish humanitarian organization has great respect for "Merhamet".

On that occasion, representatives of the "Red Crescent" and "Merhamet" visited ten socially vulnerable families in the Canton of Sarajevo and handed them sacrificial meat.

The Muslim charitable society "Merhamet" donated five tons of sacrificial meat to refugees from Syria and other countries who found refuge in the Krnjača camp near Belgrade. The meat was delivered to the Krnjača camp on the third day of Kurban Bayram by the President of "Merhamet" Hajrudin Šahić, in the presence of representatives of the Islamic Community of Serbia, the British Ambassador to Serbia Denis Keefe, and the Deputy Commissioner of the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of Serbia Ivan Gerginov.
