The leadership of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo will consider today the dismissal of the head of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic, Dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanović, an unofficial source from KCUS confirmed to the Patria agency.
The reasons for this dismissal are still unknown.
Dr. Gavrankapetanović did not wish to comment on this information for the media. He briefly told the Patria agency that he is exclusively interested in surgery, but not in political decisions that could lead to his possible dismissal from Orthopedics.
Professor Gavrankapetanović is one of the leading European experts in the field of orthopedics. If his dismissal occurs, he will be one of about a dozen professors who have left the Clinical Center in Sarajevo since Dr. Sebija Izetbegović took the position of manager of KCUS in January 2016.
