Srebrenica Memorial Center: Criminal charges to seek the formation of the "Radovan Višković" case

(Patria) - The Srebrenica Memorial Center has called on the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to launch an investigation into the criminal liability of Radovan Višković, the Prime Minister of the RS entity, based on the statements of protected witness M-16, who stated in 2017 at the Court of BiH during the trial in the case of 'Josipović and others' that "Radovan Višković offered him money to move mass graves."

"In the statements reported by the investigative web portal Istraga.ba, which we have no reason not to believe are authentic, the statement of protected witness M-16 is indicated, directly linking the name 'Radovan Višković' with locations related to the genocide in Srebrenica, as well as with the subsequent concealment and relocation, and active incitement to participate in the concealment of mass graves," the Srebrenica Memorial Center stated.

"We encourage the family members of the victims, as well as all conscientious citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to request the BiH Prosecutor's Office to undertake investigative actions by filing criminal charges against Višković, considering that the information available in the public domain is a sufficient basis for filing a criminal complaint and initiating an investigation," said the Srebrenica Memorial Center.

"We are deeply disappointed that it has taken 13 years for this statement to be published, especially since it concerns a suspect who was not only available but also held public office during the past period. Furthermore, the acts he is accused of are so monstrous, so morbid, that the credibility of the BiH Prosecutor's Office is now measured solely by how quickly it will order the apprehension and questioning of Radovan Višković.

Anything else will be a shameful relativization and instrumentalization of that institution for the purpose of covering up responsibility for genocide and crimes against humanity," concluded the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
