Memić's temporal bone fractured, Ljubo Seferović's wife refused to testify!

At the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, the trial of Ljubo Seferović and his father Bekrija continued due to the serious criminal offense against public traffic safety and the criminal offense of failing to provide assistance to a person injured in a traffic accident and the criminal offense of obstructing evidence, in the case of the death of Dženan Memić, reports Patria agency.

The first witness for the Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office was Šejla Brković-Jusufbegović, a doctor from the Institute of Emergency Medical Aid, who arrived at Velika aleja with an emergency team on the night of February 8, 2016. She stated that they were informed of a traffic accident and upon arrival at the scene, they found a police car with a girl sitting on its trunk.

A police officer standing there told the doctor that another person was injured.

- We found a young man lying on his left side. He was unconscious and breathing spontaneously. We proceeded to provide assistance and informed the base that we needed help.

Prosecutor Meris Ćato asked about the man's injuries, to which the doctor replied that there were no major bleeding and that blood was coming from his nose and mouth.

- When we put him in the vehicle, we proceeded with a more detailed examination. There was an injury to the left temple area, abrasions on the knees and on the left hand – said Brković-Jusufbegović, adding that she could not recall with certainty the side on which the hand injury occurred.

She also added that there was no external chest injury, but she noted a certain injury after listening to his breathing.

He was transported by ambulance to the Intensive Care Unit of the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo (KCUS), and another vehicle with Alisa Mutap quickly arrived.

When asked by the prosecutor if she spoke with the girl Alisa Mutap when they arrived at Velika aleja, the doctor said that she did.

- She was in a state of shock, she said that a car had hit them.

Judge Igor Todorović asked the witness if there were any other injuries besides the ones listed, and the doctor said they did not see any and thought it was a basal skull fracture.

The second witness was Dr. Salko Zahirović, who is specializing in neurosurgery at KCUS. He was called as an assistant in Dženan Memić's surgery.

- I was called by the on-call doctor, and when I arrived, the patient was already in the operating room. We proceeded with the surgery – said the doctor.

He explained that it was a linear fracture of the temporal bone, and they removed it to extract a hematoma. The brain was severely swollen, and they did not replace the temporal bone.

When asked if he saw other injuries, the doctor stated that he did not at the time, but later saw from the reports that there was a scratch on the right knee and right hand, and contusions on the chest.

The third witness was Bajro Hodžić, who testified that he knows the second defendant Bekrija Seferović, known as Gigo, and that he asked him to drive Bekrija's daughter to Germany.

The witness confirmed that while driving Bekrija's daughter, son-in-law, and their children to Germany, he received a call from Ljubo asking him to drive him to Germany as well upon his return. The witness could not recall the exact period when he drove to Germany, stating: In the spring.

When asked how he knew who called him, the witness said: His sister told me.

Hodžić said that upon his return from Germany, he saw in the media what they were accused of and that they had been arrested.

The fourth witness was Bahrudin Bužo, who works as a guard in Blažuj. He stated that on February 9, 2016, there was damage to the fence bordering Bekrija Seferović's residence.

He approached and saw a piece of plastic (turn signal) and noticed that the part was missing from a van parked there.

When asked about the color, the witness said: Like gray, more towards black.

He said he saw damage to the rear bumper, but did not see the front as he did not pass by that side.

Vasvija Sejdović, Ljubo Seferović's wife, also appeared as a witness, but refused to testify. She claimed to be ill, and the audience following the trial suspected her identity. The court panel took her passport and confirmed that it was Vasvija Sejdović.

The lawyer for the Memić family, Ifet Feraget, who is trying to establish the truth in this case along with them, warns that time is running out, and the legal consequences could be enormous.

Experts agree that this is a complex case, but the question remains why experts are not reacting, nor the Constitutional Court following the appeal of lawyer Feraget, in order to shed light on this case and reveal the true truth.
