Memić informed Konaković about the development plans of Ilidža Municipality

A delegation of the Sarajevo Canton Government led by Prime Minister Elmedin Konaković visited Ilidža Municipality today. The Mayor, Prof. Dr. Senaid Memić, along with his associates, informed them about the projects realized in 2016 and the plans for 2017.

The delegation was presented with significant investment projects of Ilidža Municipality: water supply for Rakovic, construction of a fast road towards Hrasnica, a road from Alija Izetbegović Bridge to the war bridge, regulation of the Zujevina and Dobrinja Bosne watercourses, and millions invested in school renovations. They were informed about the plans of the municipal administration for 2017, including: tram line construction from Ilidža to Hrasnica, continuation of work on the water supply and sewage system in Rakovic, regulation of Zujevina, arrangements for the center of Ilidža, construction of a Center for Healthy Aging, a Center for Children with Special Needs, and the Nova Ilidža project.

Mayor Memić also outlined the problems in his work, which relate to the municipality's lack of jurisdiction, and initiated the involvement of the Canton and relevant ministries on issues concerning the water protection zone, the International Airport, Vrelo Bosne, and Stojčevac, which are located within the territory of Ilidža Municipality and where long-standing issues need to be resolved for the population. Prime Minister Konaković expressed his desire for joint action between the Canton and Ilidža Municipality.

- Every meter of the Canton is important to us, and it is important that we work together and want to improve cooperation. We will resolve a good part of the problems on the ground with new laws. There is no doubt that we want to strongly support the development of local communities, and we can only do that through joint agreements - said Prime Minister Konaković, among other things.

More intensive cooperation and communication between the Government and the Municipality were agreed upon, all with the aim of finding the best solutions for the implementation of planned projects that will create new jobs and better living conditions.
