Memić submits resignation request for Dalida Burzić, complaint to be forwarded to HJPC

Muriz Memić, father of Dženan Memić, today submitted a request for the resignation of Dalida Burzić, the Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. Memić will also forward the complaint against Burzić and all prosecutors who worked on the case to the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The request states:

- I believe it is clear to you that in the case of Memić Dženan, the most severe consequences have affected my family and me, whose interests you should represent. However, you allowed yourself to accept everything that Mutap Alisa said, while you rejected all the information I provided and did not find it appropriate to verify them through oversight of the work of your prosecutors Ćato Meris, Ivana Petković, and other prosecutors involved in the case.

You yourself stated that at one point five prosecutors were working on the case. My information submitted to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office was rejected in advance and assessed as 'unsubstantiated claims'. The question arises as to how, based on the same information, the Ad hoc body reaches a completely different conclusion and identifies a series of omissions in the investigation by members of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior who were under the direct management of your prosecutors leading the investigation - the complaint states.

Memić also cites omissions in the work of the prosecutors and that the Prosecutor's Office did not conduct a lawful investigation, and that the qualification of the offense was changed without evidence being collected in a lawful manner.

From the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, they confirmed to Patria that Muriz Memić's request was submitted.

- After Muriz Memić submitted to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office a request seeking the resignation of the Chief Cantonal Prosecutor, the Office of the Chief Prosecutor immediately forwarded the request to the competent institutions - Azra Bavčić, spokesperson for the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, told Patria.

The request was forwarded to the Federal Prosecutor's Office, the HJPC, and the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor.
