Memić Asks Emergency Services: Why Were Audio Recordings from the Night Dženan Memić Died Processed?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A member of the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton, Arijana Memić, submitted an inquiry to the Emergency Services today regarding the intervention on February 8, 2016, when a young man, Dženan Memić, was killed in Velika aleja under still unexplained circumstances. He died on February 15, 2016.

Assembly member Memić has already received responses from the Emergency Services on two occasions, with which she is not satisfied.

"This is the third time I am sending you an inquiry. So far, you have not fully answered any of my inquiries, and I demand that this time you send all the requested data so that we can continue working regularly, which both I and you are obliged to do towards the citizens. The audio recordings I received on April 5, 2019, relating to the intervention of February 8, 2016, most of the audio recordings show a processing date of February 8, 2016, which is to be expected since there should be no need to process them. However, a few audio recordings were processed, and the processing date is November 8, 2016. I ask you to answer why these recordings were processed, who was given access to them, i.e., to whom they were forwarded, and whether the audio recordings were processed in a way that they were shortened or modified," asked Assembly member Memić.

She requested that all audio recordings from that night be provided to her.

"Based on the response received on April 5, 2019, where you state that the cardiomobile can be stopped during transport depending on changes in the patient's health condition and the doctor's professional assessment, I again request a detailed explanation of what possible changes in the patient's health condition or symptoms (whether one of them is nausea) can lead to a decision to make an emergency stop."

Assembly member Memić also asked when the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton was notified, as suggested by the employees of the DKPT, i.e., the exact time and recording of the call.

"I request that you provide me with recordings of absolutely all calls in the period from 9:30 PM to 10:52 PM (February 8, 2016) and an extract from the logbook of protocoled calls for that period."
