Mektić pushes his best man for SIPA Director, Šarović his for BiH Foreigners' Affairs Service

If the selection of personnel to take over the most responsible positions in the security sector in BiH is anything to go by, one doesn't need to be a professional or a person of reference, but rather it is most important to have a powerful best man in a good position, writes the Patria news agency.

Two appointments have coincided with best man connections. Thus, the SDS leadership has given its consent to the Minister of Security of BiH, Dragan Mektić, to appoint either Davor Vidović or Perica Stanić as the Director of SIPA.

Vidović, a long-serving and experienced police officer from Posavina Canton, stood no chance against Stanić from Prnjavor, the hometown of Minister Mektić.

And as they say in the folk saying, "a best man is not a button" (meaning, a best man is important), Mektić, when submitting the proposal for the Director of SIPA, naturally opted for his fellow countryman and, moreover, best man, Perica Stanić. It remains to be seen how the SDS leader Mladen Bosić, whose favorite was Vidović, will react to this.

Another appointment could be seasoned with best man connections.

The new Director of the BiH Foreigners' Affairs Service should be Zoran Đerić from PDP. This is an agreement among the leaders within the Coalition for Change, namely Mladen Ivanić and Mladen Bosić, face to face.

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirko Šarović, is trying to push his best man, Slobodan Ujić, who currently serves as the manager of the Immigration Center, into that position.
