Mektić with Directors of Security Agencies: Intelligence and Operational Measures Intensified in BiH

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina between Security Minister Dragan Mektić and directors of BiH security agencies (Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH, Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH, Border Police of BiH, and Service for Foreigners' Affairs of BiH).

During the meeting, the current security situation in BiH was analyzed in light of recent terrorist attacks in Europe and new methods of carrying out terrorist acts, and it was agreed to undertake enhanced measures and actions to prevent and avert any forms of potential terrorist threats, the Patria agency reports.

Locations and facilities that could be at risk were identified, primarily places of mass gathering of citizens, and it was agreed to undertake enhanced intelligence and operational measures throughout BiH, as well as the rapid exchange of all information and data among security services.

The elevated level of intelligence and security activities will remain in place until the end of the upcoming New Year and religious holidays, and if deemed necessary, will be extended beyond January.

The Ministry of Security of BiH calls on citizens to cooperate and, if they have information or knowledge about any security threats or occurrences, to immediately notify the security agencies in BiH.
