Mektić discusses migration with Cormack

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Mektić met today in Sarajevo with the Ambassador of the United States of America Maureen Cormack. The meeting discussed the situation in the area of migration, human trafficking, and arms control.

Ambassador Cormack informed the Minister that the annual report on the situation in the area of human trafficking will be published soon, and pointed out that there is significant concern regarding the lack of criminal prosecution, especially of persons who involve children in begging.

Minister Mektić informed the Ambassador about the current activities to prevent illegal migration, and also expressed dissatisfaction with the reaction of the prosecution in conducting investigations and the efficiency in prosecuting persons involved in human trafficking.

During this meeting, the upcoming visit of Minister Mektić to the USA next week was discussed, during which a series of meetings will be held with officials from the US Government, the FBI, and US National Security.
