Mektić Orders: Dautbašić Suspended, SIPA Check Still Ongoing

Bakir Dautbašić has been suspended today from his position as Secretary of the BiH Ministry of Security after the BiH Prosecutor's Office order to conduct an investigation, as well as the decision to impose custody, arrived at the Ministry, reports the Patria News Agency.

Bakir Dautbašić, long-time Secretary of the BiH Ministry of Security and SBB candidate for Minister of Transport and Communications, will remain in custody until February 11, after the defense's appeal filed on January 15 was rejected, confirmed lawyer Vasvija Vidović.

The BiH Court made a decision on custody for Dautbašić and pharmacist Bilsen Šahman, after reviewing the submitted evidence, establishing that there is a well-founded suspicion that the two committed the criminal offense of obstruction of justice in the case against Naser Keljmendi. They are in custody due to suspicions that they might destroy or falsify evidence important for this criminal proceeding if released.

The regular check of candidates, Dautbašić and future Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH Sead Jusić, is still ongoing, confirmed SIPA spokesperson Kristina Jozić, reports ATV.
