Mektić: If there is my responsibility, proceed immediately

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektić commented at today's press conference on the statements made yesterday by Elvira Abdić-Jelenović, who proposed declaring "martial law in the country" due to the influx of migrants.

"I heard Lazar Prodanović get upset about the murder in Velika Kladuša, which is indeed a tragedy, but I tell him: There was also a murder in Banja Luka. Yesterday I heard a great foolishness, Mrs. Abdić, who requested that martial law be declared in BiH. You can imagine what kind of politicians we are sitting with and solving problems," said Mektić, N1 reports.

"Yesterday I was exposed to an attempted criticism where I saw a nationalist narrative. Why are you in Salakovac this, why are you in Salakovac that?", he said and added:

"I know what the problem is, the problem is that I insisted that the column reach Salakovac. You cannot justify the fact that you came out on the streets with long guns and said: This is the territory of HNK. That is a finished story for me. Let the Prosecutor's Office determine responsibility. If there is responsibility of Dragan Mektić, proceed immediately!", Mektić stated.

He added:

"I am not saying that we are in a position to stop migrations, because someone before us would have done that. We have engaged a large number of police officers, I hope they will contribute to solving the problem. But, I must admit that the pressure is increasing and increasing.".
