McGuffie: We call on RS authorities to act quickly

Commenting on the erection of a cross at Zlatište on Sunday, the spokesperson for the EU Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative Andy McGuffie stated:

- Leaders and political actors in BiH should support reconciliation and the rule of law at all times. This move undermines both. The EU Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative to BiH therefore call on the authorities of Republika Srpska to act quickly to ensure compliance with relevant laws. We expect all political actors and media houses in BiH to show leadership and responsibility, and to ensure that their public statements and reporting do not exploit this issue to raise inter-ethnic tensions or create fear and divisions. The European Union expects public figures in Bosnia and Herzegovina, without exception, not to attempt to raise tensions with their statements, but to adhere to the norms of reasonable and constructive discourse - stated the EU Delegation to BiH, Patria reports.
