Mehmedović: Zubac arrests Bosniaks during Ramadan, wants to show he can do whatever he wants

Ever since Goran Zubac took charge of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH (SIPA), he has been using every opportunity to discredit Bosniaks, or those people who mean something to Bosniaks, stated Šemsudin Mehmedović, Member of the BiH Parliament, in a statement to the BiH news agency Patria.

He said that for the second year in a row, Zubac has been arresting Bosniaks during the holy month of Ramadan, wanting to humiliate them and send a message that he can do whatever he wants. Last Ramadan, Mehmedović himself was arrested, even though the order was not issued by the BiH Prosecutor's Office, while at the beginning of this Ramadan, a respected BiH athlete, Mensur Peljto, was arrested, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

- It's not a problem when he does it with an order, but he mostly does it without an order, and the Prosecutor's Office covers it up later – says Mehmedović.

Peljto is suspected of war crimes because he allegedly slapped four members of a Chetnik formation from Bijeljina (Second Semberian Chetnik Brigade) in premises in Ograđenovac, where they were allegedly held as prisoners of war.

- Peljto defended himself from Niš special forces, the Yugoslav People's Army which created concentration camps and killed people, so if he hit someone in that defense, it cannot be considered a crime – says Mehmedović.
