Mehmedović demands answer from Kajganić: Are you conducting an investigation against Darko Ćulum and have restrictive measures been requested from the Court of BiH?

(Patria) - State prosecutor Šemsudin Mehmedović has submitted a parliamentary question to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH regarding the status of Darko Ćulum, specifically whether an investigation is being conducted against Ćulum, and whether they are acting upon the criminal complaint filed against him by prosecutors Jasmin Emrić and Šemsudin Mehmedović for multiple criminal offenses. The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has not responded to media inquiries for days regarding the status of Darko Ćulum, i.e., whether he is one of the suspects in the case of an attack on the constitutional order of BiH. On July 14, Ćulum voluntarily appeared at the SIPA building and continued to perform the function of director, although he had been absent since March 18 and had been working as an advisor in the MUP RS.

"Has the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted a request to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the imposition of restrictive measures against Darko Ćulum, former director of SIPA, under Article 126a of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, point b) prohibition of visiting certain places or areas, and c) prohibition of meeting with certain persons, in the manner requested by the aforementioned criminal complaint," the letter states.

Mehmedović requested that the number of the criminal case and the name of the acting prosecutor be provided.

Ćulum has been reported for the criminal offenses of "associating for the purpose of committing criminal acts against the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina," in connection with the criminal offense of "attack on the constitutional order," "endangering territorial integrity," and the criminal offense of "armed rebellion," all in connection with the criminal offense of "failure to execute the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Human Rights Chamber, or the European Court of Human Rights," as well as "abuse of official position or authority."

The criminal complaint requested that the chief prosecutor order the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to urgently submit to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina a request for the imposition of a detention measure against Darko Ćulum, or alternatively, restrictive measures, namely a prohibition on visiting certain places or areas and a prohibition on meeting with certain persons, specifically a ban on:
- entering the building of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina or approaching it within a distance of 50 meters;
- meeting and communicating with all officials and authorized officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- meeting and communicating with suspects Milorad Dodik, Nenad Stevandić, Radovan Višković, Siniša Kostrešević, and Siniša Karan.

"It is indisputable that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina should inform the filers of the criminal complaint about the actions taken and the decision made regarding the criminal complaint, especially regarding the requested restrictive measures for Darko Ćulum, former director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the letter states.
