(Patria) - The last mandatory medical examination for police officers of the Border Police of BiH was organized in 2008, according to the response of the Council of Ministers of BiH to the parliamentary question of Šemsudin Mehmedović.
The BiH Border Police pointed out that the Law on Police Officers of BiH, the Law on Labor in BiH Institutions, and the Law on Civil Service in BiH Institutions do not prescribe the obligation to perform systematic examinations, and that the Border Police does not have an internal regulation that regulates the aforementioned.
MP Mehmedović called on the Ministry of Security of BiH to introduce the obligation of medical examinations for all police officers who carry weapons.
"These are living people, who have their own problems, fluctuating health conditions. What has happened from 2008 to 2023 that there are no more medical examinations," said Mehmedović.
He also requested that the Ministry of Security initiate the procedure for signing a collective agreement.
