Mehmedović: We Are Not Silent, Because Silence Is Pulling Us Deeper and Deeper to the Bottom

Šemsudin Mehmedović, a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in his regular address to the Bosnian public "Fridays at Nine", commented on the increasingly frequent injustices happening to the ordinary Bosnian person. At the end of that address, he dramatically delivered a message, which is completely different from many previous cold political statements, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- What is actually happening to us? When they arrest the defenders of our country, we are silent and react mildly. When they unjustly take our money by a decision of a minister in the Federation Government, we are silent. When they ban our freedom of speech, we are silent. When they humiliate us and discriminate against us with decisions, we remain silent. When some virtual charlatans take our children, we are silent or complain to someone. To whom, we do not even know. As if to someone who will solve our problems. They will not. Let us raise our voices and resist injustice. Let us resist all impulses that burden our Bosnian society. Let us resist all those who want in any way to undermine our Bosnia and Herzegovina. Let us resist injustice, let us resist lies and insinuations.

And let us be silent no more. I am speaking to you, Bosnian man, do not be silent, because silence is pulling us deeper and deeper to the bottom. Let us change our condition by changing ourselves and changing our relationship to the world in which we live - said Mehmedović.
