Mehmedović: Izetbegović finally understood the danger of the referendum and that we must fight for BiH together

Two weeks ago, 13 state parliamentarians sent a letter to high international officials in our country, asking them to stop the anti-Dayton actions of the authorities in the smaller BiH entity, due to the scheduled referendum on the Day of RS, and highlighting and warning about the responsibility of the international community and the consequences of such actions, writes the Patria News Agency.

The letter was signed by MPs (4) from SDA, DF, BPS, HDZ 1990 and A-sda: Denis Bećirović, Mirsad Mešić, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Željko Komšić, Mensura Beganović, Salko Sokolović, Sadik Ahmetović, Senad Šepić, Damir Bećirović, Jasmin Emrić, Zaim Backović, Diana Zelenika and Hanka Vajzović.

- I certainly welcome the conclusions of the SDA Collegium, which call on deputies and delegates in the BiH Parliament, the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, the National Assembly of RS and the Council of Peoples of RS to form a mass patriotic front, regardless of party affiliation, to stop the adventurous, unconstitutional and illegal behavior of parts of the RS authorities and to stabilize the situation in BiH. 14 days ago, 13 of us from different parties, except SDA (four signed, editor's note), SBB and HDZ BiH, sent a letter to all relevant international factors in BiH, stating that they must stop Dodik and anti-Dayton actions.

It is good that the SDA president Bakir Izetbegović and the closer SDA leadership have finally realized that the referendum is not Dodik's shot in the dark, and that when it comes to the interests of the state of BiH, there are no divisions and there should be no divisions, not only within SDA, but among all pro-Bosnian parties, says for NAP Šemsudin Mehmedović, SDA MP.

In addition to High Representative Valentin Inzko, the letter from the state parliamentarians was sent on August 2 to US Ambassador Maureen E. Cormack, EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, British Ambassador Edward Ferguson, French Ambassador Claire Bodonyi, German Ambassador Christian Hellbach, and Russian Ambassador Petr Ivancov.
