Mehmedović: I have public support, but I pay for every ambition with a criminal complaint!

Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šemsudin Mehmedović stated for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP) that he is not yet focused on a possible candidacy for the position of president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), but that he apparently has public support for it.

Mehmedović received a large number of viewer votes in a poll on FACE TV, taking second place with 18 percent of the votes among eight possible candidates after Sulejman Tihić's announcement of withdrawal from that position. However, although Mehmedović appreciates these compliments, he is reserved in his statement.

- Whenever I have expressed some political ambition, I have received a new criminal complaint – Mehmedović told NAP.

Speaking about the poll, which, according to the text about possible candidates published by NAP, was conducted by Senad Hadžifejzović's television, Mehmedović says that it speaks more about the support of candidates among citizens than within the party.

- This actually shows that I have public support for the candidacy, but I am not thinking about it at this time, because all attention is focused on the General Elections in October. If the SDA is strong after the elections, then it will be worth fighting for that position. And if not, then a radical reform in the SDA will be needed – Mehmedović told NAP, not wanting to comment on the ranking of other possible candidates in the poll.
