Mehmedović: We received 300,000 votes, we are obliged to stop attacks from RS and attempts to destroy the state

State representatives will gather on Monday at 12:00 in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH where they will hold a meeting with only one topic on the agenda: a response to the announced referendum in the RS, confirmed for the Patria news agency SDA representative Šemsudin Mehmedović.

Mehmedović recalled that 13 state representatives (SDA, DF, BPS, HDZ 1990 and A-sda) sent an open letter at the beginning of August to the addresses of high international officials in our country, demanding that the anti-Dayton activities of the authorities in the smaller BiH entity be stopped, due to the scheduled referendum on the Day of RS.

- We warned then about the responsibility of the international community and the consequences of such actions. We see that there is disagreement within the PIC members, that the session where the referendum was supposed to be discussed has been postponed. It is our responsibility to do what we can, if the international community, and especially the OHR which is tasked with preserving the Dayton Agreement, does not want to do anything concrete.

- Therefore, all of us who signed this letter, but this time also with other fellow representatives from pro-Bosnian parties in the House of Representatives of BiH, are consulting on what we, as legitimate representatives of citizens who received 300,000 votes, can undertake within our competencies to stop the attack from the RS and the attempt to destroy the state. We are obliged to do this because the citizens voted for us to protect and fight for the state - Mehmedović states.

The session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of BiH will be held a day later, on Tuesday, August 30. Although the agenda has already been set, Mehmedović does not rule out the possibility that after the meeting of representatives on Monday, it may be expanded with a new item regarding the referendum in the RS.
