Mehmedović: If you say Bosniaks in RS are not safe, we will know how to defend ourselves

After the incident with Aleksandar Vučić in Srebrenica, the consequences for the safety of Bosniaks in the RS are evident in the shadow of the debate about who organized the attack on Vučić, as well as the debate about the referendum in the RS, national tensions are rising to a boiling point... making the already difficult lives of Bosniaks in the RS further endangered by insecurity, according to a statement by Šemsudin Mehmedović, a Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

- If the RS, the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Government, its President, Judiciary and Assembly, i.e., all RS institutions, are unable or unwilling to protect Bosniak returnees, provide them with security, and sanction committed attacks, attempted murders, incitement of inter-ethnic hatred, and other dangerous offenses against Bosniaks as well as all others in the RS, we will consider it a deliberate strategy and implementation of the Greater Serbian policy of genocide and ethnic cleansing – the statement continues, adding that this would be considered a violation of the Dayton Agreement.

It is further stated that the next message is that because of all this, we have the right to self-defense.

- On this occasion, I am sending a message that we will know how to organize and defend ourselves, just as we knew how to defend BiH from the last aggression, if you say that Bosniaks are not safe in the RS.

Instead of competing in good deeds, opening new factories, launching new plants, production, agriculture, the messages from the RS that they send us remain at the level of the Middle Ages, but carved into the chests of beaten Bosniak returnees.

Not even a few days have passed since the farce in Srebrenica when I reacted with a warning that the biggest danger to European security at the moment is 30,000 armed Chetniks and their fascist movement poisoned by a retrograde ideology of destroying everything that is different.

Unfortunately, we did not have to wait long; the attack on a Bosniak returnee in Kotor Varoš was another clear response and confirmation of Chetnik threats not only to the security and peace in BiH but to the whole of Europe.

From this place, I once again call on the competent authorities in the country, as well as the leaders of democracy in Europe and the World, to stop such activities because the consequences can be devastating for the stability of the region, which is likely the aspiration of some political mentors of Serbia and the RS – the statement by Mehmedović reads.
