International Consumer Day: Education on Rights and Laws

As part of the project „Greater knowledge of the legislative and institutional framework for consumer protection – greater possibility of compensation for violated rights” financed by the Federal Ministry of Trade as support for „consumer education”, the work and activities of the Food Safety Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina were presented, reports the Patria news agency.

This was a form of education on the legislative and institutional framework for food safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on consumer rights to safe and quality food, and the presentation and lecture were held at the Pensioners' Home in Tuzla in the form of a presentation and lecture.

More than 250 women of middle and older age, members of the Association of Female Pensioners of Tuzla and the Women's Association of Tuzla, participated.

The goal is to improve consumer knowledge about the existing legislative and institutional framework for consumer protection, the existing level of protection and implementation of laws supporting consumer protection and the implementation of the Law on Consumer Protection in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as possible improvements to the legislative and institutional framework in terms of greater protection and greater possibilities for compensation for violated consumer rights.

- We believe that, organized by the Consumer Association, the institutions themselves, which are the bearers of consumer rights protection, can best present themselves, their role in consumer protection, their work so far, and planned activities and improvements. This was an opportunity to jointly mark the upcoming March 15 – International Consumer Day – say the consumer association.
