Sarajevo International Airport Operating Increasingly Successfully

When we at the airport record an increase in traffic of goods and passengers, it certainly has a positive impact on the overall life in the city – Ivica Veličan, director of the Sarajevo International Airport, told the Bosnian news agency Patria.

And, the increase in passenger and cargo traffic at Sarajevo Airport has been recorded increasingly in recent years. Thus, in May this year, 71,513 passengers passed through, which is 9% more compared to the same period last year. At the same time, there was an increase in the number of flight operations, with 606 realized, which is 18% more compared to the same period last year.

In May 2014, a total of 302,543 kg of commercial, i.e., civil cargo, including humanitarian cargo, was processed, which is 43% more than the realization in the same month of 2013.

- The season has started and we now have a lot of work. There are many tourists traveling on vacation to Turkey, the diaspora is coming... That is why we are now focused solely on getting through this part of the season as efficiently as possible, and after that we will think about new projects – says Veličan.

Although official reports are not yet complete, the entire first half of 2014 for the Sarajevo International Airport is better than last year, which gives experts from this company the motivation to continue working diligently, writes Patria.
