(Patria) - Sarajevo will host the second edition of the international street race "Vils Ultramarathon" today and tomorrow, featuring the longest timed distances.
At Wilson's Promenade, starting at 9:00 AM today, around 120 ultramarathon runners or those who wish to become one will have the opportunity to enjoy a 24-hour mental challenge.
The competition will be organized in three disciplines: six-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour races, announced by the Association Dečki u plavom, which organizes the marathon.
Darko Lončar from the aforementioned association stated that, after a successful premiere edition, the "Vils Ultramarathon" has been recognized as an ultramarathon race with the most potential for further development and with a tendency to become the best regional ultramarathon race.
"We are especially proud that this year's edition will feature the best ultramarathon runners from the region, such as Michel Šula, Serbia's record holder in the six-hour, 12-hour, 24-hour, and 100-kilometer events, then Zdravko Jadrijev, Croatia's record holder in the six-hour and 24-hour events, and Dejan Radanac, Croatia's record holder in the 100-kilometer event. It is important to mention that Šula and Radanac are coming to Sarajevo to try, together, to break the records of Serbia and Croatia in the six-hour event, and they plan to run about 90 kilometers," said Lončar.
