Međugorje - Bijača: 10 km of modern road opened with fireworks

The section of the highway from Međugorje to the Međugorje Border Crossing Bijača (or Kravice - Zvirovići) was opened with a message from the director of JP Autoceste FBiH, Ensad Karić, who stated that they will not stop here despite the pressures and even threats they received, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

- This is not a political, but a life project of JP Autoceste, and I hope of the wider community, because we are building to connect - Karić said.

Karić cut the ribbon with Marijana Prkačin, an employee of Autoceste FBiH, a former scholarship holder, and Mijo Jajalo, a current scholarship holder, with the message that they are the future builders, after which fireworks followed.

Otherwise, the construction of this section of Corridor Vc is one of the most demanding sections, on which the Studenčica bridge was built, which is 90 meters high, and which, as Karić said, leaves both experts and ordinary citizens breathless.

The Trebižat bridge, one viaduct, and the Bijela Vlaka tunnel were also built. What everyone is saying at this ceremony is that BiH will become a major road construction site, and that the opening of these 10 km means a larger number of tourists and those visiting the Herzegovinian beauties in Međugorje, Počitelj, and Mostar.

Damir Hadžić, Minister of Transport and Communications of BiH, reiterated that the opening of this highway means a lot not only for the local community but also for the entire BiH.

Vjekoslav Bevanda, Prime Minister of BiH, said in his opening address that before this, he was in Međugorje where he socialized with Marin Čilić, the US Open winner, and that his tears in his eyes showed how much he loves this country.

- With the same joy with which I accepted socializing with Čilić, I came to the opening of the road. The presence of all of you here from the executive and legislative authorities shows that we care, and I hope that BiH will become a modern road hub. Today, one man in Međugorje said "finally from the south", and I hope this is not the end and that we will soon open the highway to Počitelj - said Bevanda.
