Among 8,000 observers Peter Sorensen and Nicholas Hill

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH today accepted the request for accreditation of several hundred representatives of international organizations and domestic non-governmental organizations, so that more than 8,000 observers will monitor this year's elections, reports the BiH news agency Patria. 

Among the observers will be the EU Special Representative in BiH Peter Sorensen, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in BiH Nicholas Hill, as well as several ambassadors, and political entities participating in the general elections on October 12.

The CEC today determined the amount of compensation for the work of polling station committees for the general elections and for work in the Main Counting Center. For the work of polling station committees, 4,850,000 KM is allocated, with the president of the polling station committee receiving 100 KM and the vice-president 70 KM.

Persons engaged for work in the Main Counting Center will be paid hourly, and depending on the tasks they perform, the work rate will range from three KM to five KM per hour. It was stated that the determined compensations are at the same level as those for the previous elections.

The Commission today also adopted instructions on the procedure for election commissions for the general elections, which also contain a schedule for informing the public about the course and results of the elections on October 12 and 13. The CEC will publish the first preliminary unofficial voting results at 24:00 on October 12, for the members of the Presidency of BiH, and preliminary results for all levels of government on October 13.

This time again, the CEC will hold press conferences on election day and the day after in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, as it has done in previous elections. CEC President Stjepan Mikić announced that the Commission will meet daily in the coming days, and if necessary, twice a day.
