Are media in BiH fabricating Erdogan's statements again?

More and more satirical content portals are appearing online, publishing fabricated statements or stories they construct based on assumptions, writes the Patria news agency. Recently, a real problem arose in BiH due to a false statement by former Turkish Prime Minister and current President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

At that time, some internet portals, without citing any source, published an alleged statement by Prime Minister Erdogan which said: "Now I swear by great Allah that if anyone, in any way, touches Bosniaks, they will have one hundred million Turks against them," which caused a storm of reactions in the region, even reactions from some high-ranking politicians.

Even before the whole situation calmed down, a text published by the portal "sarajevo365.com" today, most likely fabricated, stated that Erdogan told a local radio station in Istanbul that he "will not allow the construction of a cross on Zlatište above Sarajevo".

It was stated that Erdogan emphasized that this would be just one of the moves by which he would fulfill his pre-election promise to provide strong support to brotherly Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Some portals took this news as verified, which again attracted attention in BiH. The Turkish Embassy in BiH has not yet commented.
