Medical School in Zenica Celebrates 67 Years of Existence: ZDK Government Invests Additional 415,000 KM in Infrastructure

(Patria) - Public Institution (JU) Medical School Zenica solemnly celebrated 67 years of existence.

On this occasion, infrastructural works carried out over the past year with funds from the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport were also promoted.

The school's hallways were reconstructed, interior carpentry was replaced, and the sports hall was reconstructed, including the replacement of the roof, with an investment of 415,000 KM.

The ceremony was attended by a ZDK delegation led by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić and Speaker of the Assembly Ćazim Huskić, which also included Deputy Speakers Goran Bulajić, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mirza Mušija, and Minister of Veterans' Affairs Adnan Sirovica.

Prime Minister Pivić congratulated the school on its anniversary and praised the agility of the management, led by Director Nedžada Alispahić, in their efforts to create a quality environment for teaching and staying at school. He invited students to build their future in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- I want us to continue working on building a better environment, to preserve a strong economy, to have quality education and qualified workers, to all fight for the truth, but also to criticize when there is a basis for it.

Your mission is humanity and helping people. I want your future to be here in BiH. Together we will fight to make our country the most beautiful and pleasant place to live - said Prime Minister Pivić.

He emphasized that the ZDK Government's focus last year was on security, with an investment of around 30 million KM, and this year it is focused on healthcare and development projects, such as the new Cantonal Hospital, a project worth 300 million euros.

He stated that 20 million euros have already been secured for the first phase of the project.

- We are working on major development projects, and at the same time, we are dedicated to improving the material situation of employees. The government has increased salaries twice in three years of its mandate, and in a month we will sign new collective agreements that will increase salaries for employees in education, police, healthcare, and public administration.

We have the necessary financial resources, because our canton's budget is stable and liquid, and we are the only canton that has achieved growth in payment transactions in FBiH - said Pivić.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mirza Mušija emphasized that the Medical School in Zenica is one of the most representative schools in this canton and that he expects the teaching staff to remain dedicated to quality work with children, who achieve notable successes in teaching and extracurricular activities.

Director Nedžada Alispahić thanked the Government and the relevant ministry for their investments in the school, which amounted to over 1.5 million KM in the past five years, which, along with the great dedication of 90 teachers, has enabled it to remain a school of high standards with facilities that allow around 700 students to be socially included.

Before these works, the school building was insulated, and the reconstruction of the amphitheater and the arrangement of the schoolyard remain.
