Matthew Palmer Arrives in Sarajevo on January 19

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - US envoy for electoral reform Matthew Palmer is expected to arrive in Sarajevo on Wednesday, January 19, where he will stay for several days. Angelina Eichhorst, director at the European External Action Service, is also expected to join him to hold new talks with political parties regarding amendments to the Election Law of BiH.

A meeting was held today at the EU Delegation between the Head of the EU Delegation, Johann Sattler, and the US Ambassador, Eric Nelson, with the president and vice-presidents of the People and Justice party.

"We discussed ways to resolve the political crisis. It is urgently necessary to move forward with reforms, including electoral reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina," Sattler wrote on Twitter.

Talks with political actors have already been held in the past few days, and the president of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, and the president of SDA, Bakir Izetbegović, had approximately the same views last week that an agreement is possible.
