Matt Field: Citizens, on October 7 you decide what kind of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be in the next four years

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Matt Field addressed citizens with a video message in the local language ahead of the General elections scheduled for October 7. Field stated in his address that it is the citizens who decide the future of the country by going to the polls, Patria reports.

- On Sunday, October 7, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina will decide the direction their country will take in the next four years. As a diplomat, I will not vote and I cannot comment on who should be voted for. If I were to vote, I would ask myself what I want for my children, for my parents, for myself, and for my country - he said, adding that every citizen should ask themselves who has the best plan, who will create the most jobs, improve the quality of healthcare and education.  

Field emphasized the role of the United Kingdom in the electoral process and reminded citizens of their role in the elections.

- What the United Kingdom can do is ensure that the elections are fair and free - as much as possible. That is why we have assisted ODIHR and 'Pod lupom' in securing independent observers, as well as transparent ballot boxes. The rest is up to you. You decide by going to the polls and voting. Not voting is accepting the status quo. Elections are decided by those who vote. Go to the polls and ensure that it is you who decides your future - concluded the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
