Mathematicians Vuk Janković and Dino Ahić win gold medals, BiH team also brings three silvers

(Patria) - Vuk Janković, a student of the Trebinje Gymnasium "Jovan Dučić", achieved a historic result by winning a gold medal at the 43rd Balkan Mathematical Olympiad in Greece with the maximum number of points.

"According to available data, this result has not been achieved so far by any competitor representing Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad," stated the Trebinje school.

Vuk, they add, was also the only competitor from the permanent member countries of the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad to achieve the maximum result.

"Besides him, 100% of the points were also achieved only by representatives of Great Britain and Kazakhstan, countries that participated in the competition as guest participants," they add.

They further state that the entire team of Bosnia and Herzegovina also had an excellent performance, achieving the best result in history.

"Along with Vuk's gold medal, Dino Ahić also won gold, while Andrej Krčmar, Harun Memić and Adnan Osmić won silver medals," stated the Trebinje Gymnasium "Jovan Dučić".

Thanks to this performance, Bosnia and Herzegovina, they add, took a high second place among participating countries, or third place if guest teams such as Italy, Great Britain, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and others are also counted.

"This is an unreal success — both Vuk's and the entire team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We sincerely and wholeheartedly congratulate all competitors," they emphasize from this educational institution.

The competition season for Vuk is currently in its strongest phase. Ahead of him is the International Mathematical Olympiad in China, for which he qualified as the first-placed in the qualifications in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We remind you that Vuk has already secured a place at the European Physics Olympiad in Sweden and the International Physics Olympiad in Colombia.

"Vuk, you are our pride and role model," proudly state from the Trebinje Gymnasium "Jovan Dučić".
