MASTERS&WOOD: Bosnian furniture at the Cologne fair

Bosnian and Herzegovinian furniture industry MASTERS&WOOD ("Majstori i Drvo") will present itself at this year's furniture fair in Cologne with chairs, tables, chests of drawers and dining sets, produced in the furniture factory in Fojnica, reports the Patria News Agency.  

-The Cologne furniture fair is the largest of its kind in Europe. It is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience with the best, new potential partners, and thus establish good contacts and open new markets for the domestic furniture industry, which is considered the most potent economic branch in BiH and the only one recording a foreign trade surplus, said Muhamed Pialv, director of the MASTERS&WOOD company, on that occasion.

MASTERS&WOOD produced and placed over 300,000 chairs, tables, and other furniture on foreign markets in 2014. These are predominantly chairs, high-quality and highest-priced with the "Made in B&H" label, which are part of the assortment of the largest furniture retail chains in the world.

The International Furniture Fair in Cologne will be held this year from January 19 to 25, under the motto "live, furnish, inhabit". The Cologne fair is considered one of the most significant and largest fairs of its kind in the world, where the most modern design, materials, and technologies are promoted at the beginning of each year. Last year, over 1,200 exhibitors from more than 50 countries exhibited at the fair, with a total attendance of around 120,000 people.

MS&WOOD employs over 200 workers. The furniture produced in Fojnica is exported to 42 countries, on all continents of the world, and is sold from Japan, through EU countries, to the United States of America. One of the most significant partners of this Bosnian and Herzegovinian furniture industry is the world's largest manufacturer and chain of furniture stores, the Swedish IKEA.
