Mašović, Podžić and Field: Exceptional Importance of Development and Strengthening of BiH Armed Forces

(Patria) - Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić officially received the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to BiH Matthew Field, as well as the newly appointed British Military Attaché Colonel Andrew Tait.

After the meeting, guests from the United Kingdom also held talks with the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, Lieutenant General Senad Mašović, at the headquarters of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH. Bilateral military cooperation, possibilities for further cooperation, and future joint activities in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic were discussed. Both Minister Podžić and General Mašović thanked Ambassador Field for the exceptionally significant engagement of his country in various assistance projects, which have significantly contributed to the better training, professionalism, and overall development of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of BiH. They particularly thanked him for the support in the training and education process of members of the Armed Forces of BiH, the project of opening military clinics, and various forms of assistance to the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defence of BiH.

Field expressed strong support from his Government and Embassy for the Armed Forces of BiH and Bosnia and Herzegovina itself, and for further activities on its path towards membership in the EU and NATO. He also emphasized the exceptional importance of the development and strengthening of the BiH Armed Forces, expressing satisfaction with the continuation of successful cooperation in the future. The hosts particularly welcomed the newly appointed Military Attaché Colonel Andrew Tait, wishing him a successful professional engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
