Mašić: Let Konaković show the employment analysis in all public companies, not just in ViK

The 2016 Work Report of KJKP Vodovod i kanalizacija will be presented to the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton today.

Canton Prime Minister Elemedin Konaković previously accused the management of this company of non-transparent work, as well as excessive hiring and accumulation of administration. The Prime Minister called on the management of ViK to publish the names of employees in this company, alluding to abuse of position by the management of this public company.

The opposition SDP says they do not dispute that there are irregularities when it comes to employment in public companies in Sarajevo, but if the Prime Minister wants to be transparent, qualifications should not be made arbitrarily, and the subject should not be only some companies.

- It is obvious that this is about two conflicting sides within the SDA, one of which is represented by Prime Minister Konaković. The Prime Minister should call for accountability for illegal employment, but not only in ViK, if there were any irregularities there, but also explain how, for example, the former president of the Student Parliament, Haris Zahiragić, the extended arm of the SDA, was employed at the KS Health Insurance Fund, and how people were employed in some other public companies, behind which the policy of this party certainly stands - Damir Mašić, president of the Cantonal Organization of SDP in Sarajevo, told the Patria agency.

- It would be good to conduct a detailed analysis and see which public companies in Sarajevo have had employment at all, and especially to see where employment was done illegally and what policy stands behind that employment - Mašić added.

Prime Minister Konaković was previously accused of forcibly shutting down the old Tourist Board in Sarajevo Canton and establishing a new one, appointing his friends Nermin Muzur and Faruk Čaluk to head it.

From ViK, at a press conference last Friday, they expressed dissatisfaction with what they called the constant pressure from the Prime Minister of KS, Elmedin Konaković.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board in VIK, Taib Delalić, pointed out that the Report submitted by Director Nezir Hadžić to the Supervisory Board received a positive assessment.

- The report was positively assessed by the Company Assembly, which was appointed by the KS Assembly, and now lobbying is underway somewhere to have this report rejected by the KS Assembly - Delalić said.

- We have constant pressure from the Prime Minister of KS, Elmedin Konaković, who constantly sees some crime and idleness in this company - he added.

Director of KJKP Vodovod i kanalizacija, Nezir Hadžić, said that this company has been under full pressure from the Prime Minister of KS for two years, and since January, employees of this company have been exposed to numerous attacks from citizens in the field due to the Prime Minister's statements.

The non-governmental sector assesses that Prime Minister Konaković's media statements are populist, and that citizens in Sarajevo, two and a half years after he came to power, still do not have regular water supply, do not have organized public transport, and the security situation in the city remains poor.
