Martin Raguž in Srebrenica: Time to Draw a Line Under 100 Years of Wars

Martin Raguž, a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and president of HDZ 1990, visited Potočari today, where he attended the commemoration of the 19th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

Raguž said he regrets what happened in Srebrenica and emphasized that Srebrenica must never be forgotten, and that we must learn a lesson from the past war to prevent similar things from happening in the future.

- Today, as we remember the tragic events at this place, as well as all the victims in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is time to finally draw a line under 100 years of wars, which have claimed numerous human lives and caused immeasurable losses, Raguž stated.

- Precisely because of those who lost their lives here, it is time to turn to the future and create a society in which such things will never happen again, he added.

In July 1995, 10,701 Bosniaks were killed in Srebrenica, representing the largest genocide in Europe since World War II, writes Patria.
