Martin Raguž: The EU has extended a hand to us, we must accept it!

The president of HDZ 1990, Martin Raguž, expressed satisfaction after yesterday's meeting of BiH politicians with the Foreign Ministers of Great Britain and Germany, Philip Hammond and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, reports the Patria News Agency.

Raguž emphasized that, learning from previous failures in the process of moving BiH towards prosperity and its European path, political structures must establish effective and concrete monitoring measures to ensure the implementation of all necessary reforms in BiH.

- The hand has been extended, and we must accept it. We have a difficult path ahead of us that should not be underestimated, but also an unavoidable responsibility towards the people in our country - said Raguž, expressing a dose of optimism with the fact that, if we fulfill all the set conditions, we will have the opportunity to open the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the EU.

Raguž, commenting on yesterday's meeting, emphasized that the EU's new approach towards BiH is primarily aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions in our country.

As stated by high-ranking officials from Great Britain and Germany, the result of this initiative will exclusively depend on what Bosnia and Herzegovina does, or does not do. More specifically, what the political leaders in BiH do.
