Marko Perković Thompson issued a misdemeanor report for the Ustasha salute

A report has been filed against controversial Croatian singer Marko Perković Thompson for violating the Law on Misdemeanors against Public Order and Peace during a performance at a concert held on Saturday in Slunj as part of the commemoration of the 22nd anniversary of the military operation Storm, while a criminal investigation will determine the identities of other individuals who may have disturbed public order and peace during the concert, the police in Karlovac announced, as reported by the Patria agency.

In addition to the police, numerous news crews recorded the chanting of Ustasha salutes and the singing of inappropriate songs, as well as clothing and flags with the Ustasha salute "for home ready", loud chanting of "for home ready", which no one interrupted, not even during the speech of Croatian Veterans Minister Tomo Medved.

Thompson sang the song "Bojna Čavoglave", and that song begins with the cry "for home ready", for which he was issued a misdemeanor report last year at the Storm celebration in Knin and fined by the Misdemeanor Court, and later stated that this salute is part of a song that is not banned and that preserves the memory of the Homeland War.

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović commented on the case of Thompson's reporting by saying that politics and music should not be mixed.

- As far as I am personally concerned, I think that politics should not interfere with music, and when it comes to any criminal responsibility, the judicial bodies of the Republic of Croatia should have their say - said the Croatian president.
