Marjanović: Hookah, weddings, beer, and coffee are allowed, but not classes at faculties!?

(Patria) - Professor of Genetics and Bioengineering, scientist and politician Damir Marjanović commented on the latest Order from the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health, which proposes online classes for higher education institutions wherever possible.

"Well, that's really enough now. So, here it is: hookah, weddings, beer, and coffee are allowed, but 'with strict and continuous adherence to hygienic-epidemiological measures for the prevention of COVID-19' and only 'until 11 PM', while 'all forms of teaching at faculties, as well as other business activities (student consultations, exams, faculty meetings, etc.), wherever possible, should be conducted remotely using information and communication technology (online classes, via conference calls, email, Skype, etc.)'. So you can be in a cafe, even until 11 PM, but you 'shouldn't' be at the faculty at all! This is probably because the visitors of catering establishments generally behave more responsibly than professors, assistants, and students! By the way, these 'orders' are effective, written in such a way that they simply cannot be violated because most of them 'should' be followed. Standard avoidance of responsibility, characteristic of our 'advisors' who are not competent to implement their own advice!", wrote Marjanović.

The new Order extended the general measures from the previous Order for the next 14 days, and the order, along with the measures applied in other educational institutions and schools, was expanded with a part concerning higher education:

"Classes at faculties in the new academic year 2020/2021 are conducted with strict and continuous adherence to hygienic-epidemiological measures for the prevention of COVID-19. The start of classes at faculties in the new academic year 2020/2021 begins in accordance with the law and based on the assessment of the epidemiological situation by the competent public health institute of the canton/county", states the order, which also defined how "all forms of teaching at faculties, as well as other business activities (student consultations, exams, faculty meetings, etc.), wherever possible, should be conducted remotely using information and communication technology (online classes, via conference calls, email, Skype, etc.)".
