Mamić Brothers Remain in Custody for Another Month

After deciding to return earlier from Slovenia, where they were preparing with Dinamo, Zoran and Zdravko Mamić were questioned on Saturday evening at USKOK, after which they both spent the night at the PN USKOK premises in Oranice, Zagreb, and today they were ordered to one month of pre-trial detention.

Mamić brothers were brought before the County Court's investigating judge today, who decided that the Mamić brothers would spend a month in Remetinec. USKOK requested pre-trial detention due to the risk of influencing witnesses and repeating offenses, as well as the risk of flight.

After Zdravko Mamić and his brother Zoran spent the night in police custody, and before that denied all charges against them at USKOK, they arrived at court this morning and a decision is expected on whether they will be sent to pre-trial detention.

USKOK suspects Dinamo officials, the Mamić brothers, former club director Damir Vrbanović, and tax official Milan Pernar of a series of offenses committed in the last six years - from bribery to tax evasion and abuses that have jointly damaged Dinamo and the state by at least 130 million kuna.
