(Patria) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) candidate Malik Rizvanović was elected as the new Mayor of Vareš Municipality in today's early elections.
Rizvanović achieved a convincing victory with over a thousand votes more than the second-placed candidate.
For today's early elections in Vareš, 8,078 voters were registered, including 67 voters for postal voting from outside BiH.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH announced this evening that 3,469 or 43.30% of voters cast their ballots at 20 regular polling stations.
The need for the election of a new mayor arose after the previous Mayor of Vareš, Zdravko Marošević, passed away at the beginning of December last year.
