Macedonian Prime Minister Zaev for N1: Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats have no other homeland but BiH

SKOPJE, (Patria) - A Bosniak must care about a Serb or vice versa, as well as a Croat for a Serb or a Serb for a Bosniak. They were all born in Bosnia and Herzegovina. No one has another homeland. This is their homeland, said Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev on N1 television on Wednesday evening, emphasizing that he is proud that in Macedonia, citizens of Macedonian nationality vote for Albanians in elections and vice versa.

"Our ideal should not be to close borders, but to open borders. Our ideal should not be to redraw borders. Our region must cooperate, and that is why Western Europe will respect us more."

For the Macedonian Prime Minister, advocating for open borders between countries in this part of the European continent means easier flow of people, goods, services, and capital.

He also commented on the opinion that a civic Bosnia and Herzegovina would be a unitary state ruled by Bosniaks:

"Citizens will rule. The Speaker of Parliament in Macedonia is an Albanian. What is wrong with Macedonia? If he is good at working for every nation, I don't care if he is Macedonian, Albanian, Bosniak, Serb, or Roma. Let him be good, let him be a human being, let him be good to everyone. Why are they afraid of unitarism? We all want to give sovereignty to the European Union. We are doing this for the better future of our country."

When remarked that exclusive political rhetoric is not lacking in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the leader of the Macedonian government and the Social Democratic Union said:

"That is 19th-century politics. We live in the 21st century."
