Makarska Riviera packed: Most Bosnians in Podaca, Gradac and Drvenik

The Makarska Riviera is packed with BiH citizens, as a reporter of the Patria news agency saw on the spot. Most BiH citizens are vacationing in Gradac, Podaca and Drvenik, where prices are slightly lower than in Tučepi and Makarska.

As Muhamed Š., who is vacationing in Tučepi, told us, it is noticeable that there is a considerable number of BiH citizens in this place, but with somewhat "deeper pockets".

- You can see there are also a lot of Czechs. I vacation here every year, and I noticed that this year it is somewhat more expensive. Deck chairs on the beach are 40 kuna (11 KM), and a kilogram of grapes is 30 kuna. Food in restaurants is also quite expensive - says this Sarajevo native.

Muhamed saw for himself that Podaca and Drvenik are cheaper, as he visited these places yesterday.

- I saw so many familiar faces, simply as if the whole of BiH is on the Adriatic Sea. There, for example, a deck chair is 20 kuna - says Muhamed.

That BiH citizens are still heading to the Adriatic coast is also evidenced by the daily morning traffic jams at the Doljani border crossing, where waiting times of up to three hours are common when leaving BiH.

The hosts are happy, as the black statistical figures that indicated a complete season failure have already started to show.

- We hope that August will really serve us well in terms of weather. June and July were really bad. But, well, what can you do, it can't be any different - says Šime Jurić, owner of apartments on the Adriatic coast.
