Mothers of Srebrenica: We call on Schmidt to react

(Patria) - Amid extremely cold weather, peaceful protests by mothers and women of Srebrenica and Podrinje were held today in Tuzla's Freedom Square. The gathering is organized on the 11th of each month in memory of the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica.

- Two days ago, we marked January 9th, the date when decisions were made that led to the genocide in Srebrenica. One million marks were spent for these purposes, while students in Srebrenica, for example, do not have a bus to school, and ordinary people gain nothing from that parade. Since the celebration of that day is unconstitutional, we call on the High Representative Christian Schmidt to react. He was in the war in Sarajevo and knows well what happened here - stated Nura Begović, a member of the Association "Women of Srebrenica".

The gathering concluded with the recitation of Fatiha for all victims of the genocide against Bosniaks in the UN protected zone in July 1995.
